Due to reconstructions in the Buda Castle District, the Castle District Municipality have temporarily limited the tour bus traffic between June 1 and October 31, 2016. During this period only 8 tour buses will be allowed to be in the Castle at the same time for a 10 minute long period each.
The traffic restriction will apply between 7 am to 7 pm every day. Between 7 pm and 11 pm buses will be allowed to enter the Castle without any restriction.
Entering the Castle District, Budapest
Only 8 tour buses will be allowed to be in the Castle at the same time, for a 10 minute long period each. The tour buses will be allowed to enter the Castle after registration, and with an individual registration number. There will be 4 assigned pick-up and drop-off points.
Route to Enter: Ybl Miklós Square – Lánchíd Street – Clark Ádám Street – Hunyadi János Street
Registration: M0 point (BUS REGISTRATION)
Drop-off Points:
- M1, M2 (intersection of Hunyadi Janos Street and Disz Square)
- M3, M4 (intersection of Disz Square and Palota Street)
Parking: The buses will only be allowed to park in the assigned PARKING ZONE (look for the P1, P2, P3 signs) in Dozsa Gyorgy Square. Please make sure that the individual registration number is placed visibly behind the windscreen.
Pickup Points: M5, M6, M7 and M8 are the assigned pickup points

of the pedestrian zone of the Vaci utca for the tourist busses.

The tour bus traffic was restricted (due to reconstruction works) only between June 1 and October 31, 2016.
The restriction does not apply now.
I hope I could be of help.
I will visit Castle hill on 12 October 2023 with a coach of 40 seats. Is it possible to drop off near by the church? Do I need to register for the bus to go up on the castle hill? If yes, where I can register? Please reply via my email.

We have contacted you via email about the 2024 bus parking options and essential information. Indeed, in the last few years parking / drop off and pick up with a tourist bus in Buda Castle Royal Palace has changed.
